A proximity reader is installed external to an entry point. For proximity readers a card or key fob is required to be presented at the proximity reader and if the user is authorised will then allow access through the controlled door or gate. The Biometric reader uses the users’ programmed fingerprint to electronically gain access. The benefit with the Bioreader is that no cards or key tags are requiring. Code Pads can be used with a pin code for access control systems. The advantage of using a codepad is there are no cards or keyfobs required. The disadvantage is if someone discovers the pin code they can be granted access. Vandal and weather resistant codepad are installed in external areas. Many users can be programmed into the system and code can be 4 - 6 digits in length .
